Tonight I will be uploading the following components!

Stay tuned for the backerkit notification email :-)

* Rail weapons that pan and tilt (heavy crossbow, swivel gun, and harpoon gun)

* the wide hull set (makes the ship 2" wider. Includes components for extending the sterncastle width- with option components for splitting it into two cabins, solid and baluster rails, and middle section for extending below decks dividing wall. Forecastle also compatible without need for adjusting width)

almost 6 years ago – Wed, May 16, 2018 at 12:28:47 AM

Update Spotted!

We have our first two figureheads live and quick assembly!

Simply pull apart a cheap LED candle- remove the LED and CR2032 battery, and slip them inside.

Next- the original figurehead shown in the kickstarter- now easy to assemble and print.

And the Deck Crane (Functional even!! And rotates!)

Captain does not condone using the crane as a personal transport method...

For those that don't want 'printed' ropes for it-

And last on the update- the no support crows platform is ready!

All models shown were printed at 0.2mm, and 15% infill. You do lose some facial features - looking weather worn when printing at .2mm, but it looks much prettier in person then my phone camera :-)

Download and print- they're available now on Backerkit!

(Minor-ish?) Issue spotted with window and cannon ports-
almost 6 years ago – Thu, May 10, 2018 at 11:41:24 PM

Just a heads up, a somewhat minor (but not entirely so) issue was just brought to my attention that had slipped by both game testing and spot checking.

There is a small gap next to the window frames, and cannon ports running up the sides of the frames. It's only typically visible at an angle- but I will still get a tested fix out by Sunday/Monday at the latest(waiting on the printers to finish their prints).

I apologize for the missed errors.

Update ahoy! Gridless Decks! Below deck walls! And More!
almost 6 years ago – Wed, May 09, 2018 at 01:04:44 AM

Update ahoy!

We bring you:

Gridless decking for the upper and lower decks

By popular request- a lighter textured version of the side hull panels

A ‘deeper’ textured lower deck hull prow curve and stern curve pieces

Deck Riser Stairs

 Deck Riser hatch way

 and stairs leading below decks!

Lower deck walls! Create passenger cabins, a brig, or whatever you want to designate them as!

A brig captain? We'll make it so!
A brig captain? We'll make it so!

A note on the Survey that went out from Surveymonkey:

27% preferred the most recent side hull texture styles.

56% wanted the option to choose between the deeper texture and lighter

12% wanted something in between..

Based on the results- the new ‘lighter texture pack’ is out, and my modeling policy moving forward will have me saving at the mid point to create the lighter texture on any future pieces. The new lighter texture pack is closer to the original sterns texture then the prow curves- so I included a extra prow curve that matches beautifully.

A special thanks to all that participated in the survey!

Now - what do you do with these Deck Risers I keep mentioning??

Create new boat profiles and styles!

As an aside- I’m doing test prints and tuning the following pieces:

Support-free ‘crows platform’ (oddly more difficult then the support free crows nest)

Mast crane

Deck Crane

Oar cutout side panels

The Pennant / Flag pole for the masts
